How and When to Vote in the Aspen Peaks School Board Election

 

Make Your Voice Heard

It’s almost the 4th of July, and I can’t think of anything more patriotic than voting! We’ve been given an incredible trust as citizens of the United States—the obligation and opportunity to make our voices heard.

It has been my pleasure to knock on doors, meet neighbors, and ask for your vote for Seat 1 on the board of the new Aspen Peaks School District. The most common questions I receive are about voting, so here’s the scoop:

Key Election Dates

  • Primary Election: August 12
  • General Election: November 4
  • Seat 1 Candidates: 3 total; top 2 from the primary will advance to the general election

Voter Qualifications

To vote in Utah County, you must be:

  • At least 18 years old (or 17 if you turn 18 on or before the general election)
  • A citizen of the United States
  • A resident of Utah for at least 30 days before election day

Online registration requires a valid Utah Driver License. If your current address doesn’t match your license, update your address at www.dld.utah.gov. It’s free, quick, and avoids waiting in line.

Registration deadline for the Primary Election: August 1 (by 5 PM)

Same-day registration will also be available at vote centers on election day.

Mail-In Ballots

Mail-in ballots will begin arriving on July 22. If you want to vote by mail, register or update your information as soon as possible to avoid delays.
