Supporting Collaboration Between Parents and Teachers

I love the PTA and deeply appreciate all the ways it supports our schools, bringing parents and teachers together for the good of our students. Over my many years in education, I have been a big supporter of their efforts and encouraged parents of my students to support the PTA as well.

My classrooms often won school-wide contests for membership drives at the beginning of the year, as well as food drives at Thanksgiving. These experiences helped build unity, service, and excitement around making a difference in our school communities.

Continuing Support as a Community Member

Over the past year, I have been able to support the PTA in new ways. Since I am no longer in the classroom, I joined as a Community Member instead of as a teacher and have enjoyed attending meetings and events at different schools in Seat 1.

Last month, I was honored to serve as the lollipop cashier at the Liberty Hills School Carnival—a small but joyful way to stay connected and contribute to the school spirit.

Recognition from PTA Volunteers

Read what Jenilee Furness, a dedicated PTA volunteer, said about my support:

“Diane has an exceptional ability to inspire enthusiasm and engagement among both students and parents. Her leadership turns every initiative into a school-wide effort. I still recall how teachers would joke about not letting me tell Diane about events, in order to give their class a head start. When Diane was involved, success was guaranteed.”

“One of the most memorable examples of Diane’s impact was during our Tabitha’s Way Food Drive. Through her enthusiasm and leadership, she mobilized her students and their parents, sparking participation that spread throughout the entire school. Thanks to her efforts, our PTA achieved the largest donation Tabitha’s Way had ever received in Utah County.”

“Diane’s unwavering commitment, passion, and leadership are truly inspiring. She is a strong advocate, a dependable partner, and an invaluable asset to our PTA community. Her ability to motivate, organize, and lead with heart has left a lasting mark on our school.”

Working Together for Our Students

When we all work together, there is no limit to what we can accomplish. PTA is evidence of that. The collaboration between parents, teachers, and community members continues to make Aspen Peaks School District a place where students thrive and families feel connected.
