Students and Families First
A Message from Diane Knight
As many of you know, the Alpine Education Association (AEA) recently released their endorsements for the Aspen Peaks School Board. I was never a member of the AEA, and they chose not to endorse me. After their decision, they said that my lack of membership made them wonder if I would be willing to work with them and collaborate with them.
The answer is YES!

I think it’s important to collaborate and listen to people who have a different perspective than I do. And I will work to represent ALL stakeholders in the Aspen Peaks District with fairness, integrity, and respect.
My Focus Has Always Been the Classroom
For 36 years, I have proudly served in the classroom as a teacher, mentor, and advocate for students. Every day, my focus has been on helping children learn, grow, and thrive, and on partnering with parents to make sure every student’s individual needs are met. That has always been, and will always remain, the heart of my work.
A Commitment That Never Changes
My commitment has never been to any organization or political group. It has been, and always will be, to students and their families.
I believe our school board should represent the people who trust us with their children’s education, not any outside group or association. Independence allows me to listen freely, consider every perspective, and make decisions that are in the best interest of the entire community.
Putting Students and Families First
So while I may not carry the endorsement of the AEA, I carry something I value far more: the trust of parents, the respect of colleagues, and a lifelong commitment to putting students first. That’s the passion that guided me for 36 years, and it’s the same passion I will bring to the Aspen Peaks School Board.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
